SEDATION DENTISTRY
Wouldn’t it be great if you could undergo complex dental procedures without remembering a thing? Well now you can thanks to Hills Dentistry.
With sedation dentistry things like root canal therapy, extractions, or oral surgery aren’t even a memory. When your treatment is complete, you have no recollection of the time it took, the pain, the noise, or any discomfort you were expecting.
We are pleased to offer our patients the option of comfortable, safe, and effective sedation dentistry. Patients who benefit from sedation dentistry have:

I’M A BIT NERVOUS ABOUT DENTAL SEDATION WHAT LEVELS ARE AVAILABLE TO ME?
Hill Dentistry is licensed by the American Dental Association giving you have no reason to be nervous. You will discover that the team from Hill Dentistry is both respectful and professional at all times.
Sedation dentistry in Grants Pass is closely regulated by law. This means there are three sedative states at which Hill Dentistry can administer. These include mild sedation, moderate sedation and your treatment and deep sedation.
Mild Sedation — Anxiolysis is the lightest form of sedation dentistry. It is used for those with mild anxiety, longer procedures, or more complex situations. Mild sedation is normally administered orally. You remain awake or very sleepy throughout the entire procedure and are able to breathe without help, but will feel a great sense of relaxation. Patients typically recover from anxiolysis sedation within a few hours after the procedure is complete.
HOW ARE SEDATIVES ADMINISTERED?
Inhalation — Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, is used most often for easing mild-to-moderate anxiety. Recovery is quick so you can resume your normal activities immediately. You can also drive yourself to and from the dentist’s office.
Oral — Oral sedation is an extremely common technique for dental sedation and does not require needles. You will be given a prescription pill about an hour before your appointment which will have you fully relaxed by the time you arrive at our office.
